Belarus, Germany set up joint venture in Vitebsk region

The German company Bioenergy-Import-Vertriebsgesellschaft mbH & Co and limited company Vitebsk Hayseed have set up a joint venture Vita-Bio-Energy in the Vitebsk region. The new company will specialize in rapeseed processing, said Deputy Chairman of the Vitebsk regional executive committee Viktor Dorozhkin.

The German investor is planning to put nearly €15 million in the project. The resources will be used to construct and fit with an un-to-date equipment plant for producing bio fuel near the village of Verkhoviye. The company will start running in 2010.

According to Viktor Dorozhkin, the investor has an eco-friendly fuel market and intends to sell the products manufactured in the Verkhoviye to the EU countries.
